RoboGladiators

The story goes like this….

The Three Kingdoms period (三国时代) is one of the bloodiest in the history of China. It forms part of an era of disunity called the Six Dynasties following immediately the loss of de facto power of the Han Dynasty emperors. It is also commonly referred to the period between the foundation of the Wei in 220 and the conquest of the Wu by the Jin Dynasty in 280. However, many Chinese historians and laymen extend the starting point of this period back to the uprising of the Yellow Turbans in 184.

The three kingdoms were Wèi (), Shǔ (), and Wú (). To help further distinguish these states from other historical Chinese states of the same name, historians add a relevant character: Wei is also known as Cáo Wèi (曹魏), Shu is also known as Shǔ Hàn (蜀漢), and Wu is also known as Dōng Wú or Eastern Wu (東吳).

This sets the perfect theme and stage for RoboGladiators™ on 24 Nov 2009, Downtown East D’Marquee as it adopts a theme of the “Warriors of the Three Kingdoms”. Students will get to compete in a royal rumble fashion with 6 robots per round with the opportunity to forge alliances between themselves in order to raise their strategic advantage. They will be tested severely on their psychomotor skills, fighting to be the last Warrior of the Three Kingdoms standing. During the event, most importantly students have the opportunity to interact with fellow enthusiasts, motivating and inspiring one another to think out of the box, and further their passion for robotics as well as to learn more about the defining historical moments in the advancement of China.
