NJRC 2009 Challenge – Sporty Bots


I. Primary School Division

The court is made up of several materials such as wood, plastic etc and may be coloured painted according to each competition’s specific needs.

  • The court is 2,440mm long and 1,240mm wide.
  • There are no border walls, the base colour is white.
  • The wall of the labyrinth is 100mm high and 18mm wide. The black line is 18mm wide.
  • There is wall amidst the four grey areas. The wall is 1100mm long, 18mm wide and 100mm high.
  • The start area is 250mm long, 250mm wide. The base camp is 450mm long, 300mm wide.
  • The ‘hoop’ is a transparent container that is 150mm in diameter, 100mm high.
  • The backboard is 200mm high.
  • The black shooting zone is 350mm long. The white shooting zone is 700mm long.
  • The green shooting zone is 450mm long.
  • The colour of the ping pong ball used for the shoot is orange.



II. Secondary School Division

The court is made up of several materials such as wood, plastic etc and may be

coloured painted according to each competition’s specific needs.

  • The court is 2,400mm long and 1,200mm wide.
  • There is no border wall, the base colour is white and the black lines are 18mm wide.
  • The start area is 250mm long and 250mm wide.
  • The hill is 250mm wide, ~ 30 – 50 mm high.
  • There are uneven areas composed of LEGO black beams.
  • The internal size of the mission point is 400mm long, 200mm wide and 100mm high.

100 orange ping pong balls are contained in the mission point. The balls are arranged in random order.



III. Tertiary School Division

The court is made up of several materials such as wood, plastic etc and may be

coloured painted according to each competition’s specific needs.

  • The court is 2,440mm long and 1,230mm wide.
  • The base colour is white and the black line is 18mm wide.
  • The base camp is 1,150mm long and 250mm wide
  • The hill is 1,150mm long, 360mm wide and 40mm high.
  • A hollow located in the centre of the hill is 600mm long, 160 mm wide, 40mm deep and it is filled with ping pong balls.

There are border walls. The walls measure 100mm in height and are 40mm wide.
