Over at Eindhoven University of Technology, students of the Master course, LEGO Beyond Toys, came up with various amazing third party products that greatly increases the capabilities of the NXT.

Gaze Following Robot

Over at thenxtstep,

there is a post about “Gaze following robot”. Basically, a user is able to control where the robot is going by looking at the particular area. A camera is fitted on the robot which displays what the robot sees and the laptop that it is carrying receives the information from the eye tracking software controlled by the user.

WRO Japan 2008 – ASIMO

At the closing ceremony of WRO Japan 2008, ASIMO made a rare appearance to demonstrate its capabilities.

The ASIMO is made by Honda, standing at a height of 1.5m and weighs 54kg.

NXT Joystick

Recently, we decided to play with the NXT bluetooth and Visual Basic to create a game (more details to be given later)

However, to play the game, we require a Joystick. We coincidentally found the NXT Joystick designed by Philo and decided to build it.

H.A.L.E – Mission Updates

NXT controlled digital camera and the longest NXT freefall are launched from the stratosphere!

At 5:57 am Pacific Time today in the desert outside of Reno Navada, USA, MINDSTORMS robots were launched from a weather balloon into the stratosphere (up to 30KM) as part of the High Altitude LEGO Extravaganza (H.A.L.E.).

NXT Puppet

Recently, we created a NXT robot that is able to clap and move around at the same time. It is controlled using the PS2 Controller + Interface from www.mindsensors.com.
